As a young boy, I was always awestruck by the beauty of the first snowfall of the year. This work was written as a powerful, but achievable opening piece for any young band's winter program. In writing this piece, I sought to bring images of falling snow and a winter wonderland into the mind's eye, and to capture the wonder of my childhood years in the soundscape of this piece. With two recognizable themes that get passed around the band, this work is sure to be a hit at any winter concert!
