Of the many feats accomplished throughout history, one of the most well-known is the conquering of Mount Everest, the world's tallest mountain. With a peak standing at 29,000 feet above sea level, it is one of the most grueling and dangerous challenges that a mountain climber can take on. This piece portrays both the challenges and natural beauty offered by this trek.

In addition, this work serves as an excellent vehicle to introduce 7/8 time to a young 2nd-year or advanced beginning ensemble, using just the first 6-7 notes that students would learn from their method books. With feature moments that get passed around to all sections of the band, this piece is sure to be hit among your students and audiences alike!
