The Ambassador Bridge is a well-known landmark in my hometown of Detroit that connects the USA to Canada. In writing this march, I sought to portray scenes of the bridge during different times of the day and year, ranging from the lights you see sparkling off its cables at night to ice crashing off of the tower bases in the middle of winter.

This piece was primarily written as an accessible vehicle to teach two topics at once to my middle school students - 6/8 meter, and march style and form. Following the traditional American march form, students can get a well-rounded experience of playing in march style, with every section in the band getting both melodic and accompanying lines.
