The Wright Brothers' first successful powered flight at Kitty Hawk on December 17, 1903 changed the world of aviation forever. The sky quickly became the world's new "final frontier," with daring aviators all over the world building on their knowledge and continuing to push the limits of what powered aircraft could do, eventually leading to the aviation world we know today. This work, an adaptation of my earlier orchestral work Amongst the Clouds, seeks to capture the excitement of the brothers' success, as well as serve as an exciting "first flight" for beginning ensembles.

In addition to being fully playable by smaller ensembles, supplemental rhythm, scale, and melodic studies are also included to aid in the teaching process. This work is sure to be a great addition to the library of any young ensemble!
