Evocative of classic rock and roll music, B R E A K is a great introductory piece to heavier, more aggressive styles of playing, which are balanced out by the large breaks in sound for which the piece is named. Powerful figures from the lower strings, along with ornamentation from the violins, drive the work forward, and is sure to be enjoyed by all players in the ensemble.

This piece has several opportunities for teaching developing musicians certain concepts; first and foremost, syncopation and entrances on beats other than 1 are what drives the piece forward. Additionally, students will learn about heavy styles of playing while using good technique.
